If using store-bought pesto, skip to the next step. If making homemade pesto, follow your preferred recipe to prepare it beforehand.
In a large skillet or saucepan, add the cooked pasta. Spoon the pesto sauce over the pasta and toss until the pasta is evenly coated.
If using, add the halved cherry tomatoes to the pasta and toss to combine. This adds freshness and a burst of flavor.
Once the pasta is coated with pesto and any optional ingredients are added, transfer it to serving plates or a large serving bowl.
