Day 1 Recap: 2019 OISL Tournament

Games kicked off Friday at the 2019 OISL Tournament in Omaha, Nebraska.
The teams took the stage, making their first push to earn the championship title that will be awarded this weekend.

All the games are meaningful for unity and communinity building and there are no easy games as teams vie for the 2019 OISL Tournament Championship crown.

Group play takes place over the course of three days and will conclude on Sunday.

Highlights from Friday’s matches…

Mexico vs El Salvador
In a matchup of South American side, El Salvador got Mexico with 1-2 victory.

Burkina Faso vs Guatemala
Guatemala opened up the 2019 OISL Tournament with a 1-2 victory over Burkina Faso.

USA vs Honduras
USA started the Tournament strong with a 5-1 victory over 2018 Champions, Honduras.
Kamal Kambal scored 2 goals while Cory Rohren, Ali Sodal and Chris Reusch each scored a goal for USA.

Kenya vs Nigeria
In a matchup of African sides, Kenya got the veterans Nigeria with a 7-1 victory to kick off its OISL Tournament debut.
Nigeria took the 0-1 lead. After a scoreless 30 minutes, Kenya finally broke the deadlock leading to them winning in the second half.
